2020 Graduate Fellowship Exhibition

Open by appointment for in-person viewing.
Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 12-5pm (closed Thanksgiving weekend) at Headlands Center for the Arts.

A desire to create new connections marks the novel works of the seven Graduate Fellows at Headlands Center for the Arts. Using diverse media, the artists develop new languages around significant historical events and underrepresented communities.

Shelf Life: 2019 Mills College MFA Exhibition

Mills College Art Museum (MCAM) is pleased to announce Shelf Life: 2019 Mills College MFA Exhibition, on view from May 5­–June 2, 2019.

The annual MFA exhibition presents the work of graduating MFA candidates from Mills College's esteemed Studio Art program.

This year’s featured artists are Wyatt Hall, Lacey Johnson, Daniel Lulu, Harlee Mollenkopf, Michael Pedersen, Sarah Player Morrison, Claire Rabkin, Lindsay Rothwell, Zack Sumner Schomp, Katie Swan, Tashi Wangdhu, and Rebekah Wilson Smith.

An image may be a trace of something in the world, or an object in itself. Brought together by their study of Pictures + Things + Meaning, an advanced Studio Art course at Mills College, have been engaged with the relationship between objects and the images we make of them. The resulting work explores the physical presence of images through materiality, object hood, and their existence in space.

Murphy & Cadogan Annual Contemporary Art Awards Exhibition

SOMArts is proud to partner with The San Francisco Foundation to present The Annual Murphy and Cadogan Contemporary Art Awards Exhibition, a focused look at the future of the Bay Area visual arts, August 16–20, 2018. The exhibition, made possible by The San Francisco Foundation and its donors, showcases 16 promising visual artists working across disciplines and identifies young artists from Master of Fine Arts programs throughout the Bay Area whose work intersects with emerging trends.
